Gallatin Valley Land Trust Rebrand
61st GDUSA Design Award Winner
For my Identity Systems class, I was asked to do a complete re brand of Gallatin Valley Land Trust including new logos, an identity manual for all proper branding, and three different deliverables. For my deliverables I centered my ideas to cater to the dog owners of the Gallatin Valley.
Deliverable 1: Dog Treat Packaging
I designed packaging for a dog treat line featuring three products tailored to Gallatin Valley’s outdoor lifestyle, unified by a cohesive color palette and topographical map motif:
Explorer Bites: Classic treats with sustainable, nature-inspired packaging for adventurous dog owners.
Adventure Squeeze: Mess-free squeeze tubes for on-the-go snacking, ideal for parks and trails.
Dog Whip: A dog-safe whipped cream, inspired by pup cups, for home or travel indulgence.
Each product reflects the region's pet-friendly, outdoor culture while offering practical solutions for dog owners.
Deliverable 2: Dog Park Map
After dog-sitting for a friend, I discovered a nearby dog park I hadn't known about, sparking curiosity about others in town. To promote these spaces, I created a simple map of Bozeman highlighting dog parks and their amenities. Inspired by the Gallatin Valley Land Trust's “Be a good neighbor” theme, I added the message “Be a good dog owner,” along with city guidelines on maintaining clean, accessible parks. This project aims to promote the parks and encourage community stewardship.
Deliverable 3: App
I created an app for Bozeman dog owners to enhance their connection with local parks. Key features include “Who’s at the Park?” to see which dogs are at each park, “Dog Parks Near Me” for nearby locations and travel times, and “Something Needs Attention?” for reporting maintenance issues. A review section lets users share park feedback, and smartwatch integration promotes active lifestyles. The app fosters community and provides real-time info, creating a more enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners.
